Laos, Vietnam further cooperation for ICT development
The Lao Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam have reached cooperation agreements in relation to the development of telecommunications and information communication technology. A signing ceremony in relation to the cooperation agreements took place in Vientiane on September 19 between the Lao Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Dr Thansamay Kommasith and the Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam, Dr Truong Minh Tuan. The development of postal services, telecommunications and information communication technology is a key element for the promotion of trade and technology exchanges as well as for the economic, social and cultural development of the two Parties, it was noted. It was agreed that cooperation in the ICT sector will further strengthen the special traditional relationship and the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries based on equality and mutual interest.
